"Information is a source of learning. But unless it is organized, processed, and available to the right people in a format for decision making, it is a burden, not a benefit."

Pharmacists and all health professionals are valuable because we know things; we are knowledge workers. Thus, information is part and parcel of our work because with good information comes good clinical and business decisions. In this age however, information is generated at such a dizzying speed that it is hard for a us to keep track and process them.

In the field of Informatics, we practice the art and science of managing information. Not only do we deal with the techology to process and store information, we also help organisations to be more efficient and data-driven.

My work with hospitals and clinics follows the Statement by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists which involves Information Management, Knowledge Delivery, Practice Analytics, Applied Clinical Informatics, and Change Management.
